Our beginner pottery class introduces you to basic hand-building and wheel throwing (working on the potter’s wheel) techniques. Each class is shaped by students’ interests and goals, so no two sessions are alike. This class is designed specifically for those with no prior experience at Studio 467.

Ready to make more? These ceramics classes are geared for students at all levels. While choosing your own projects you will learn more about how to work with clay to achieve your personal goals relating to form, surface, function, technique, and/or concept. Ceramics demonstrations will be driven by students’ interests and goals, so each class will be as unique as its participants.

Our ceramics classes are open to students of all ages but this one is for the kids that need to work along side other kids. Each student will choose their own projects and gain hands-on experience working with clay in a supportive, creative environment.
In our dynamic group setting, kids are encouraged to work independently while still receiving personalized guidance and instruction. Demonstrations are inspired by student interests, so every class offers something new and engaging.
Teen Ceramics Class
We also offer a dedicated class just for TEENS—designed to give them space to create, experiment, and connect with peers in their own age group. Teens will enjoy working alongside other young artists while exploring ceramics techniques and pursuing projects that reflect their individual interests.

Curious about the pottery wheel? Join us Monday nights for this beginners-only 8-week course. With just five students per class, you’ll receive personalized instruction as you learn the fundamentals of wheel throwing—centering clay, pulling walls, and shaping forms like bowls, plates and cylinders.
Designed specifically for total beginners who want to learn alongside others at the same level, this class helps you build confidence and foundational skills. Each session includes demonstrations, hands-on practice, and time to develop your own projects. No experience necessary—just come ready to learn, create, and get a little messy!

Private pottery lessons are perfect for you and a friend! Whether you’re trying something new or refining your skills, a pottery wheel lesson includes a demo, hands-on instruction, and plenty of practice time. Plus, private lessons make great gifts!
Note: Finishing, trimming, and firing and glazing fees start at $30 per piece. As part of the private lesson experience, the artist will carefully finish and glaze your work, ensuring it looks its best. Your finished pieces will be ready for pickup in 3-4 weeks, or we can ship them to you for an additional fee.
